Check out supermodel Gisele Bundchen and her petite pregnant belly on Thursday in Boston. The mom-to-be covered her baby bump with a super luxe bumboo organic cotton tee. Bundchen has not confirmed the pregnancy but seeing the photos it’s obvious she is carrying a bundle of joy. Hubby Tom Brady is currently in training camp with the New England Patriots for the 2009 season.
PROJECT RUNWAY IS BACK!
Make it work!
Ahh, the familiar sounds of Tim Gunn and our favorite show “Project Runway.” Fashionistas everywhere rejoiced last night when “Project Runway” finally made its long awaited debut after a 10-month hiatus on Lifetime. Loyal fans of the show tuned in to capture the chronicles of the new crop of designers in training, pulling in 4.2 million viewers. The season five premiere, which was on Bravo before the network switch, had 2.9 million viewers.
Delayed for months by a dispute between rival networks Bravo and Lifetime, the legal battle was settled in April after The Weinstein Co. agreed to pay NBC for the right to move to Lifetime. Filming on the sixth season wrapped up in February, with four finalists sending their collections anonymously down the runway at New York Fashion. The identity of the four finalists has been kept a closely-guarded secret.
“We are thrilled about Project Runway’s very strong premiere, which surpassed all of our expectations,” said Andrea Wong, President and CEO of Lifetime Networks.
Thankfully, Lifetime didn’t tamper with the successful show and left the format in place. Although the show is based in Los Angeles this season, I’ve heard it will return to NYC for the next season which is exactly where it belongs.
What would the show be without some drama and it didn’t take long for someone to have a meltdown. Former meth addict Johnny, who admits he tried out for the show twice before and failed to make the cut due to his drug addiction, had a panic attack over his garment and nearly walked out on the first day. Luckily, Tim talked him off the ledge and he was able to produce a fabulous red carpet flowing dress.
The panel still features the familiar faces of Michael Kors and Nina Garcia and this week’s guest judge is party animal and red carpet regular Lindsay Lohan. The self taught Christopher shows his lack of professional training doesn’t mean he can’t hang with the best of them after he won the first challenge by designing a flirty, strapless dress with poufy bottom that was covered it a dark, textured fabric over ruffles of light pink organza. It was pretty and punk at the same time. Ari, who bears a striking resemblance to Lindsay’s ex, Samantha Ronson, was the first to be sent packing when she sent a hooded “disco soccer ball” down the runway.
Project Runway airs on Lifetime Thursday nights at 10PM EST and PST; 9PM Central.
