The Queen B is Back!
Comeback queen Britney Spears has had to battle to regain her former glory, putting herself through punishing dance workouts and hours of rehearsals. But yesterday, dressed to the nines in a Fifties style white bikini, huge black hat, black sunglasses, jeweled necklaces and red platform heels, the mother of two looked white hot as she filmed an ad for a magazine at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Los Angeles.
Britney showed off her trim physique as she lounged by the pool in an outfit which oozes old Hollywood glamour and recreated an iconic pin-up look. Spears looked elegant and relaxed, which is a relief considering the turbulent times she’s had. She was accompanied by manager Larry Rudolph and her mother Lynne on set.
It’s been an astonishing comeback for the 27-year-old, who is currently undertaking a tour to publicize album “Circus.” Spears received seven nominations at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
Meanwhile, the star has just announced that she won’t be performing at this weekend’s Teen Choice Awards, as had previously been stated. A statement released by her management read: “We are deeply sorry for any confusion and disappointment and appreciate the ongoing dedication of Britney’s wonderful fans.” Spears is set to receive the “Ultimate Choice” honorary award to celebrate her showbiz career at Sunday’s bash which is hosted by The Jonas Brothers.
Feds Say MICHAEL DOUGLAS’ Son Cameron is Big-Time Meth Trafficker
Feds say that Cameron Douglas was paid tens of thousands of dollars trafficking the drug – referred to in transactions by the code words “pastry” or “bath salts” – since 2006. Cash and drugs were routinely exchanged through shippers like FedEx, the court papers said. The 30-year-old son of the Oscar-winning actor was arrested July 28 at the trendy Hotel Gansevoort in Manhattan.
Cameron Douglas is son of movie star Michael Douglas and the grandson of Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas. He was busted at a Manhattan hotel last week after allegedly mailing 215 grams of methamphetamine to a post office box in a package addressed to a “Paul Smith.” That was a fictitious name used by an informant – one of three the feds nabbed and turned against Douglas.
The feds say the Hollywood scion used code words like “pastries” and “bath salts” to discuss meth shipments in secretly recorded calls and texts. “Did you get a chance to…smell any of the salts or anything like that?” he’s quoted as asking an informant. “The bath salts are fabulous! Thank you so much,” the informant later responded. “Yeah, I thought you would like them, my friend,” Douglas replied. “I was so excited for you to take a bath and see for yourself.”
The complaint drawn up by a Drug Enforcement Administration agent details allegations based on information provided by three unnamed crystal meth users and dealers. The users – including someone who once worked for Cameron Douglas – have pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with the investigation.
Roger Federer Twins Picture Debut on Facebook
The tennis champ’s wife, Mirka, gave birth to girls Charlene Riva and Myla Rose on July 23. He posted a note with the photo, writing, ‘As promised, here is a family picture that my dad took. He thinks he’s becoming a professional photographer. It was very funny as both girls had the hiccups while we were trying to take a decent picture. The girls and mom are doing great. Thanks for all your warm wishes.’
