Stars of the Harry Potter film arrived to the world premiere of the long-awaited sixth film the other night to thunder storms and monsoon-like downpours making the cast red carpet appearances difficult as they had to wade through flooded streets to greet their fans.
Leading the charge was one of my favorite fashionistas to watch, Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), who was dressed in a stunning vintage floor-length Ossie Clark floral gown with a neckline which plunged to her waist. Emma looks perfectly age appropriate by pairing the dramatic dress with a loosely pulled back hairstyle and minimal makeup. The thin, red headband added the perfect pop of color on such a dreary day. The 19-year-old managed to stay reasonably dry to sign autographs for the teams of Potter fans at London’s Leicester Square. Watson was a pro shrugging off the dewy dampness and embracing her new sheen as the rain misted her perfectly made up face and fabulous dress.
Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) was caught in the downpour, however, and got drenched as he stepped out onto the red carpet in his dapper grey suit and pink shirt. The umbrella holder assigned to Radcliffe could barely cover the star, but Daniel was all smiles as he stood laughing in the rain with soaking wet clothes.
Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), both dressed in smart dark suits and crisp white shirts, were forced to take shelter from the downpours as the heavens opened up on the crowd. Rain or shine, Grint happily signed autographs and Radcliffe spent more than an hour with screaming fans outside the Odeon cinema.
Fans turned out in their droves to the event not letting the inclement weather deter their spirit since some had waited for as long as 15 hours to see their favorite stars arrive.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince comes two years after the last film, Order of the Phoenix. It is the darkest film of the series yet as Lord Voldermort and his followers of Death Eaters cast an evil spell on the muggle (human) world. This is also the story when Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) share their first kiss while Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and Ginny Weasley develop feelings for each other.
