MICHAEL JACKSON’S fans around the world are devastated by the news of his passing at 50-years-old. Since news of his death was announced, fans have swarmed the home he was renting in West LA to pay their respects. Many have started leaving flowers and notes by the multi-million dollar home. Others have camped outside the UCLA Medical Centre where he was pronounced dead. One local outside the house said: “It’s testament to how adored he was and how universal his appeal was that tour buses started turning up pretty soon after we heard the news. Police quickly closed off the area directly outside his home but his fans still flocked to the bottom of the street, where you can see the front gates. Neighbors heard helicopters and started coming out too to see what was going on. Now people – young and old – have started leaving flowers.”
Hollywood actor ASHTON KUTCHER posted on his Twitter page: “RIP. Sending love and light to family and friend but especially his kids.”
The former model’s friend and musician JOHN MAYER also used Twitter to pay his respects: “Dazed in the studio. A major strand of our cultural DNA has left us. RIP MJ.” Maher added: “I think we’ll mourn his loss as well as the loss of ourselves as children listening to Thriller on the record player.” He went on to say: “I truly hope he is memorialized as the ’83 moonwalking, MTV owning, mesmerizing, unstoppable, invincible Michael Jackson.”
Music producer QUINCY JONES said: “I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news.” He added: “I’ve lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him.”
DJ Samantha Ronson said: “His music is just as relevant now as it was the day they pressed record, I’m sure it will remain so for generations to come. R.I.P. Mr Jackson”
Singer Rihanna said: “Truely saddened, hopefully the rumors aren’t true…. 😦 not believing anything until it’s confirmed”
Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger: We lost a great entertainer and a pop icon. My thoughts and prayers go out to Michael Jackson’s family, friends and fans.
