The two fashionable First Ladies, Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, met again at the service for the 65th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. The First Ladies must have the same fashion radar because both wore appropriate yet fashionable knee-length cream dresses paired with statement belts. If I didn’t know better I would think they planned their outfits together. Their spring color pallette’s stood out and cast a warm glow on such a somber day when most attendees wore black.
The French president’s wife chose Dior, her go-to design house, in a cap-sleeved ivory satin sheath with a gathered / ruched neckline. The American First Lady stuck with what she knows and paired a coat by Narciso Rodriguez over a dress by Michael Kors. Obama completed the look with a bold statement belt by French design house Givenchy and silver Jimmy Choo heels. In an interesting twist, this was the first time since marrying that Carla Bruni-Sarkozy was seen wearing heels (she usually sports chic flats).
