Farrah Fawcett Speaks About Her Battle with Cancer
Farrah Fawcett is speaking for the first time about her battle with cancer. The actress has been silent on her medical condition since she was first diagnosed in September 2006 with anal cancer, but now says she has refused interviews because she wants one thing: privacy. “It’s much easier to go through something and deal with it without being under a microscope,” Fawcett said. “It was stressful. I was terrified of getting the chemo. It’s not pleasant. And the radiation is not pleasant.” She went on to say, “I’m a private person. I’m shy about people knowing things. And I’m really shy about my medical [care]. It would be good if I could just go and heal and then when I decided to go out, it would be okay. It seems that there are areas that should be off-limits.”
Farrah Fawcett went on to talk about the exaggerated stories about her illness, which caused her to establish a sting operation at the UCLA Medical Center to catch snooping employees who were leaking information about her condition to the public. Last week, Fawcett’s long time love, Ryan O’Neal, told People magazine, “She stays in bed now. The doctors see that she is comfortable. Farrah is on IVs, but some of that is for nourishment. The treatment has pretty much ended.”
Fawcett’s interview comes as an NBC documentary titled, Farrah’s Story, is set to air on Friday night. Fawcett hopes that her illness will help others battling the disease saying, “I’m holding onto the hope that there is some reason that I got cancer and there is something – that may not be very clear to me right now – but that I will do.”
Heidi & Seal’s White Trash Themed Wedding
Billy Idol sang “It’s a nice day for a White Wedding”, but I wonder what he would think about a ‘white-trash’ wedding?
Heidi Klum & Seal renew their vows every year on their anniversary at their home in Mexico where they originally wed. This years swine flu outbreak had them rescheduling their plans so the pair moved the party to Malibu and incorporated an interesting theme: white trash. The pair has been married four years and decided that this years event would be a playful affair filled with crazy costumes and an Elvis impersonator who officiated over the ceremony. The pregnant bride embraced her inner trashiness with braided hair, a short skirt, and a low cut cropped top that showed her swollen belly while hubby Sean sported a mullet wig and a sight-seeing outfit which consisted of slashed jeans, American flag tee-shirt, and camera. The pair was joined by 100 equally outlandishly dressed guests.
Regardless of the wild theme and joking mood, the vibe of the bash was full of love. ‘We love it. It’s great saying your vows again,’ said Seal. ‘You remember who it was you fell in love with. It’s also a good excuse to have a big party, and we have a different theme every year.’ The couple first married in 2005 and recently revealed ther are expecting a baby girl. They already have two sons – Henry Günther, 3, and Johan Riley, 2 – and raise daughter Leni, 5, from Heidi’s prior relationship with Formula 1 boss Flavio Briatore.
