Madonna stepped out last night at the star-studded Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Ball wearing a dress designed by honorary chair, Marc Jacobs. The dress is everywhere today with some calling it a disaster putting Madonna on the worst dressed list. I found her emsemble fun and fashion forward considering Madonna is the Queen of reinvention. But the timing of such a risque, statement is questionable considering her impending adoption of Malawian orphan, Mercy James.
What she wore isn’t the only buzz being generated since she stepped out for her first red carpet appearance with toyboy lover Jesus Luz.
The Material Girl rocked out in a Louis Vuitton mini dress and thigh-high boots. On her arm was model Jesus Luz, who at 22 years old is 28 years her junior.
A court has already denied Madonna, 50, the chance to adopt Mercy. Yesterday her legal team appeared before a Malawian judge appealing to overturn the previous ruling. Over the weekend the father of Mercy James enlisted the help of the Human Rights Consultative Committee, a group that has campaigned against Madonna’s adoption bid. Mr Kambewa, who left her mother when she was pregnant, assumed Mercy James was dead. News of the relationship with Jesus Luz has reached Kambewa and he responded saying ‘I also heard after her marriage failed she is already seeing two men, both very younger than her and her ex-husband. I hear one of them is even less than half her age. ‘That’s scandalous. How can a normal woman fall for a boy who can as well be her son? ‘No, spare my Mercy that scandal.’
